Waterloo is the worst one so you shouldn't feel bad at all. I guess the only other thing than what you mention is it kinda sets up Hugo's Theory of History, but you more or less get that again in the barricade chapters so, like, it's cool.
Also just think there's some fun tension in this + Notre Dame de Paris irt the uselessness of monasticism vs the value of sanctuary.
