The Screwtape Letters - C.S. Lewis
Feb. 1st, 2019 11:58 amTwo book reviews for the price of one, this week!
I finished C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters, which is a surprisingly delightful religious satire in the form of a demon writing letters to his nephew, a demon-in-training doing his first assignment in the human world. It reminds me a lot of Good Omens, especially the line about how Crowley was focused on minor acts of mass-produced human sin as opposed to the 'craftsmanship' of individually tempting a specific human. This is the opposite: artisanal tempting, if you will.
( Cut for length, spoilers, and discussion of religion. )
