I did!! I love Agatha Troy, although... I have to confess, I'm not yet totally sold on her and Alleyn as a couple (or rather, on the book's romantic subplot?). It was a particularly awkward, prickly brand of mutual pining that I would have eaten up with a spoon if only Marsh had given us (more?) of Troy's perspective— I feel like for mutual pining to work you have to tell the story from both characters' POVs...? Kind of a "show not tell" type of thing, I guess? Like, we see Alleyn falling for her, and we get to read a couple of her letters in which she's like "he's really nice! I feel bad for being so prickly to him!", and then suddenly at the end she's like "I have feelings for you but the circumstances under which we met make me uncomfortable with pursuing a relationship!", and I'm like "....I'll take your word for it?" (It's been a minute since I read the book, so I may be misremembering things.)
All of which is to say, I look forward to seeing where Marsh goes with these two! Just, as a relationship they didn't quite click with me as instantly as Peter and Harriet Vanes.
I always felt sorry for the poor murdered model, with the dismissive way everyone talked about her.
Same :( I liked the introduction of her dancer friend (who was probably my favorite character overall!) for a more sympathetic perspective.
