This entire style of show seems to descend so directly from Assassins.
I hadn't made the connection, but it absolutely is.
Oh, that's a terrible opportunity to miss!
My second choice was going to be a two-show weekend double feature of Operation Mincemeat and Dead Outlaw later this summer, but alas, timing. (At least Operation Mincemeat won't be closing any time soon!) There's a definite theme on Broadway this year:
This broadway season is about corpses. About preserving someone that has died or holding on to a dying concept: vaudeville, fame, youth. That a person is both a physical thing and a narrative we tell. The ephemeral nature of living and the grim reality of loss. And of course, Betty Boop (x)
Also, as a completely unnecessary correction to my previous comment because I noticed the error and it was bugging me: the overlapping weekend would have been Oct. 11-12. I think the 8th is when Beetlejuice starts?
