There were a few other really satisfying moments like that one, when something clicked in a way I didn't expect, but that's the one that makes the most sense with the least context.

Overall, it was strange but good. I think I liked it more as a book than as a story, if that makes sense? It was really well-crafted, despite and in some ways because of the initial dissonance/WTF-ness of jumping between two very different (tonally, topically) storylines.
